Aguero – Game Maker on Match Day 27

Daily Fantasy Football Review Premier League Game Week 27: On Monday evening the game day of the Premier League came to an end. On average, 2.7 goals were scored per match and 6 teams were able to keep a clean sheet. This mix of many goals and clean sheets led to impressively high scores in the daily fantasy football tournaments.

The best players of the daily fantasy football tournaments

best daily fantasy football players premier leagueWe’ll introduce you to the players who earned the most points last match day and look at who’s in top shape right now and who should under no circumstances be left out of your next line up. The 27th match day gave us some great candidates to choose from!

Mohamed Salah / Roberto Firmino

FanTeam: Both 12 Points
Fantasybet: Salah 13 (inc. 2 Bonus Points), Firmino 12 (inc. 3 Bonus Points)

Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino were each able to score once in their 2-0 win over Southampton’s and both assisted each other’s goals. In the 2017/18 season Firmino has booked 12 goals and 7 assists while Salah has 22 goals and 9 assists to his credit. Together, the two are involved in well over half of all the Reds’ (61) goals. This impressive consistency has made the duo one of the most important assets of successful daily fantasy football teams over recent weeks.

Kevin de Bruyne

FanTeam: 13 Points
Fantasybet: 13 Points (inc. 3 Bonus Points)

Kevin de Bruyne was able to contribute 3 assists to the Skyblues’ 5-1 victory. The Belgian now has 14 assists to his credit which is a League best!

Eden Hazard

FanTeam: 15 Points
Fantasybet: 16 Points (inc. 3 Bonus Points)

After a hitherto mixed season, Hazard is slowly gaining momentum. In the 3-0 win over bottom-of-the-table West Brom he was Man of the Match, scored twice and initiate numerous good actions for the Blues. In the last four games Hazard has found the opponent’s goal five times and is in great shape ahead of the Champions League league campaign against FC Barcelona.

Sergio Aguero

FanTeam: 20 Points
Fantasybet: 21 Points (inc. 3 Bonus Points)

The Argentinian Aguero was the player of the game day. Before the match, Aguero topped the list of likely scorers with a 66.7% of finding the back of the net. He more than justified his role as favourite with 4 goals (all in the second half of the game against Leicester) . The Argentinian was a coveted choice of captain on match day 27 and his performance meant that fantasy football managers who were brave enough to trust their armband to another player had little chance of a good finish.

The Premier League is taking a short break and the 28th match day will start on 24.02. Meanwhile, Tottenham, Manchester City and Liverpool are all playing in the Champions League. Then it will be back to business as usual and Liverpool’s red jerseys will be particularly eye-catching. The Reds’ offensive power is due to meet West Ham United’s weak defence. So Salah and Firmino are hot contenders for your daily fantasy football line up as well as potential contenders for the captaincy.

In addition, we can look forward to the top match between Manchester United and Chelsea. The heading promises some excitement, but it is likely to be rather uninteresting for fantasy football managers. The final game of the game day, however, is quite another story, that’s Tottenham – Crystal Palace. Since their 1: 4 defeat against the Skyblues on 16.12., Spurs have been unbeaten and goal-machine Harry Kane continues to impress us with his eerie consistency. Manchester City, meanwhile, will not be involved in match day 28 and will play the catch-up game against the Gunners on 01.03.

The table after the 27th match day

The relegation battle in the Premier League has heated up even more. At the top, however, everything is still much the same.

The top teams

The top teams in the Premier League, with the exception of Arsenal and Manchester United, all brought home 3 points. Arsenal are now 7 points adrift of the international places and the Gunners’ best chance for a Champions League place next year seems to be winning the Europa League. For the Red Devils, the 0: 1 in Newcastle was only a small setback and the team of Jose Mourinho is still in second place in the table.

The struggle for survival

The relegation battle was, once again, red hot. Huddersfield and Newcastle were both able to leave the relegation zone. Huddersfield scored and scored against Bournemouth. The team won 4: 1.

The writing is definitely on the wall at West Brom. Chelsea was in dismal condition before match day 28. Nevertheless, the Baggies just couldn’t make any progress and really don’t seem to have grasped the fact that they are in a relegation battle. WBA is now 7 points behind the non-relegation places.
