The first match day of the brand new Premier League season is upon us. It is particularly difficult to anticipate the coaches’ line-ups on the first match day. That’s why you should focus on players who are (almost) guaranteed to play. This is especially true for the Double or Nothing tournaments where you want to keep your variance low. You can find all the odds for the match day here .

The Line-up Explained
For the season opener, I decided on a classic 3-4 -4. This is the standard line-up on a match day, where many goals are expected. On the defensive, I have a 1 – 1 – 1 – 1 split with players from the teams which have the best clean sheet odds. On FantasyBet you should choose players with a particularly high potential for bonus points. The offensive Alonso and Robertson are true bonus point magnets.
Midfield is a mix of top-class stars and budget players. Mon Salah and Sánchez are the players with the highest cost per point in our line up. Salah justifies his high price as his chance of scoring is almost 64% and likewise Sánchez has a very decent 48%. Salah is the captain of the team thanks to his ability to get involved in so many goals.
Sigurdsson is a real bargain compared to our first two picks. The Icelandic international takes the set pieces for his team and also participates creatively in the forward game. Ryan Fraser comes last but by no means least. He is a budget midfielder who not only has a chance of scoring or assisting, but will also benefit from Bournemouth’s high clean-sheet odds.
Firmino , King and Rashford are all playing up front. Firmio has a 52% chance of scoring and hence is our vice captain. Marcus Rashford (46.5% on one goal) and Joshua King (38.5%) both offer great value for money.
Double or Nothing is all about getting into the top 50% of the tournament. That’s why we aim for a balanced mix of players. This also explains why we’re switching out some of the Bournemouth players we used in our regular line-up. We like to make use of several teams so that we’re still in with a chance if the Cherries’ performance is tart rather than sweet. The defensive squad is almost unchanged, but Bertrand from Southampton replaces Aké in our trio.
In midfield, we replaced Fraser with Pedro . After Morata and Hazard’s, the forward is the Chelsea player with the best odds to score and is very reasonably priced. Salah is, of course, still our captain’s choice in the DoN.
There are two changes up front. Firmino is set. But King and Rashford will be replaced by Austin (SOU) and Mitrovic (FUL). Again, the moral of the story is – don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
11Heroes will also be hosting its own DoN Tournament on the opening match day, do a search on Opening Game Week DON and get ready to do battle with the 11Heroes Community.
