Daily Fantasy Football Review Premier League Gameweek 25
After the Premier League-free weekend the 25th round of the English Premier League finally took place on Tuesday and Wednesday. In addition to the top match (Tottenham vs. Manchester United), the main focus was on the relegation battle and the race for the international places. As usual, we summarize the results for you and also look at which players were particularly impressive from a daily fantasy football point of view.
The Matches / The Table
The 25th round had some surprises ready. Two big teams stumbled namely Arsenal and Chelsea. The Gunners lost 1-3 to Swansea and are now six points behind the international places (and eight on the Champions League), which is far below their own expectations. We are curious to see if Arsene Wenger will manage to get back on course with newcomer Aubameyang.
The Blues, however, were not able to exploit Arsenal’s slip-ups and steal a march on them, but also slipped up. In front of their home crowd, Antonio Conte’s side lost 3-0 to guests Bournemouth who really played their socks off.
This meant that the big winner of this round was Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool FC. The Reds dominated in Huddersfield and won 3-0. This pushes Liverpool into third place and they are now tied with Chelsea.
In the top match Tottenham had a surprisingly clear win over Manchester United – 2-0. There was never really any doubt that Spurs were going to win and the margin could even have been significantly higher. Manchester City, meanwhile, remains incredibly consistent and beat West Brom 3-0. In so doing they extended their lead over second-placed United to 15 points and the championship battle is now pretty much over.
How a dramatic round played out…

At the other end of the table, after two wins in a row, Swansea move out of bottom place for the first time in a long while, finishing in 19th place in front of West Brom. The third relegation candidate is Southampton’s who only managed a 1:1 draw at home to Brighton. Huddersfield is in 17th place and one point ahead of Southampton . They are currently showing the weakest form in the league. The newcomer has been on a bad run of four defeats in a row and has played a total of 7! games without a win.
The numbers speak clearly. Huddersfield have the third worst offence (19 goals) and the second worst defence (44 goals conceded) in the league. In the last four games, the “Terriers” have had a goal balance of 1:12 and currently are just not capable of playing Premier League football. Huddersfield are heading to Manchester this weekend and a turnaround against the Mourinho star ensemble seems unlikely.

The best players of the daily fantasy football round
In this section, we take a look at the largest points earners of the daily fantasy football game day. This gives you an overview of which players are currently in top shape and whom you could consider in the coming week.
Fantasybet: 15 Ponts (inc. 3 Bonus points)
Fanteam: 14 Points
Theo Walcott scored his first two goals in @Everton colours to end a run of six games without a win for the club
— Premier League (@premierleague) February 1, 2018
Ever since Walcott switched from Arsenal to Everton, the Englishman has been gaining momentum. He managed to prepare a goal against West Brom and he scored his first goals for his new club against Leicester – goals, plural, two of them. The points banker:
Kevin de Bruyne
Fantasybet: 14 Points (inc. 3 Bonus Points)
Fanteam: 12 Points
The Belgian is one of the league’s most consistent scorers and he had a real field day against West Brom he had a real Sahnetag. De Bruyne prepared the 1: 0 and then scored the 2: 0. There’s was also a point for the clean sheet and Fantasybet 3’s well-earned bonus points. The points:
Fantasybet: 11 Points (inc. 2 Bonus Points)
Fanteam: 11 Points
Team mate Sterling also deserves to be mentioned. The Englishman contributed two assists to victory and was once again a highly profitable daily fantasy football asset. The points:
Fantasybet: 12 Points (with maximum bonus points)
Fanteam: 10 Points
The AFC Bournemouth showed that they can really upset the big teams. Only two weeks after the 2-1 victory over Arsenal, the Cherries beat the reigning champions Chelsea. The key player in both games was Callum Wilson. Wilson was able to contribute a goal and an assist to both wins and is currently in really good form! The points:
The 26th round is already almost. The Manchester City vs. Burnley game is unfortunately excluded from many daily fantasy football tournaments, depriving us of some options, especially on offensive. AFC Bournemouth, however, has a very feasible game (Stoke City) in front of it and the strong Callum Wilson could be a good budget option against the weakest defence in the league (50 goals) .
Daily fantasy managers will also be taking a good look at the Manchester United – Huddersfield match. United is a big favourite in the game against the stricken newcomer. Spurs are once again playing in the top game of the upcoming round, which will take place in Liverpool on Sunday. Good entertainment is guaranteed. Of course, we will deliver all odds and probabilities for the upcoming matches in our preview.
