Few Points on Match Day 28 in the Fantasy Premier League

Daily Fantasy Football Review Premier League Match Day 28: The current Premier League match day is almost over. Thursday evening will see the big match between Manchester City and Arsenal but this is of little importance from a daily fantasy football point of view.

The Best Players in the Daily Fantasy Football Tournaments

As always, we start our review by looking for the players who delivered the most points on this match day. With just under 2.9 goals per game, the 28th round of the EPL was quite the goal fest, but only Watford and Spurs were able to keep a clean sheet and hardly anyone scored more than one goal, which led to low scores in the daily fantasy football tournaments.

It took just 73 points to win the Triple Grand on Fantasybet. Likewise on FanTeam, the winning team in the main event currently has only 85 points. This tournament, however, does cover the match between Manchester City and Arsenal, which will take place on thursday.

Overview of the best players:

Dwight Gayle

FanTeam: 11 Points
Fantasybet: 10 Points(+ Bonus Points)

The striker from newly-promoted Newcastle was one of only two players to score a double this match day. In Bournemouth, the Englishman scored to make 1-0 and then 2-0 before the hosts managed to get their act together in the nick of time and were able to draw level.

Glenn Murray

FanTeam: 10 Points
Fantasybet: 12 Points (inc. 3 Bonus Points)

In the relegation battle Brighton were able to collect three important points. The team beat Swansea 4: 1 and Glenn Murray made an important contribution in the form of the first two goals. The striker from Brighton is currently in really good form and was able to score in three of their last four league games.

Romelu Lukaku

FanTeam: 11 Points
Fantasybet: 12 Points (inc. 3 Bonus Points)

Romelu Lukaku’s performance in the big game against the Blues silenced critics who questioned his ability against other “big” teams. The Belgian scored his 13th goal of the season against Chelsea and provided his 6th assist.

The Offensive Power of the Reds

When it comes to the Liverpool offensive, it’s hard to single out one particular player in the 4-1 win over West Ham United. Salah and Emre Can each scored one and prepared another. Firmino and Mané were responsible for goals # 3 and # 4. The Reds put in a total of 21 shots of which 12 were on target. They claimed a well-earned three points to help them in the fight for the international places!

Manchester City face Chelsea on match day 29, but all the other top teams have straightforward tasks ahead of them. Tottenham hosts Huddersfield and Manchester United plays away against Crystal Palace. Newcastle United has to go to Anfield to battle the Reds’ goal-scoring machine.

The Gunners welcome Watford, but they have very little recovery time after the catch-up game against Manchester City on Thursday.

The hottest tip for your daily fantasy football teams seems to be the incredibly consistent Liverpool. Across all competitions, Jürgen Klopp’s team has been able to score 16! times over the last 5 games. Liverpool is currently the most dangerous team in the Premier League.

The Table after the 28th Match Day

Manchester City and Arsenal have to play against each other again on Thursday after clashing in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday. The table, however, will not change, regardless of the outcome of the match.

The Top Teams

Chelsea was the big loser of the day. Their 1: 2 defeat against Manchester Utd. plus Spurs’ 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace means the Blues are now in 5th place, out of the coveted Champions League places. Liverpool also benefits, the 4: 1 over West Ham United consolidates its claim to a starting place in the Champions League.

The Relegation Battle

The fight to stay in the English Premier League is still incredibly exciting. Only West Brom is looking in real trouble, their 1: 2 defeat at the hands of Huddersfield means they are now 7 points away from safety – and after 4 defeats in a row, their seriously lacking positive momentum. The big winners of the match day are the promoted players. Newcastle took home a point from their visit to Bournemouth. Huddersfield and Brighton both claimed the full three each.

However, there’s still everything to play for. There are still 10 games left in the season and just 11 points separate Stoke in 19th place from Burnley in 7th place
