Review of the 33rd Game Day of the Premier League

The 33rd game in the fantasy premier league ends with the Gunners’ hard-fought 2-1 win over Middlesbrough. If you’re interested in what else was on offer during the last weekend of the English Premier League, then stay tuned to our short review.

The Matches and the Table

Right at the start of the 33rd match day, Tottenham scored a clear (4: 0) win over AFC Bournemouth and claimed its seventh! Premier League victory in a row. Spurs have managed the impressive feat of only letting in 22 goals so far this season. It’s not just the figures which are impressive. Thanks to Tottenham, the Premier League is now seeing a fight for championship people thought had already been decided . Chelsea lost 2-0 to Manchester United, with only six games to play, that means they have only a four-point advantage over Spurs.

Apart from the Blues, there was hardly a mistake from any team at the top of the table and the fight for the international places continues to heat up. There was hardly any movement at the lower end of the Premier League league table. Only Sunderland were able to pick up a point with a 2: 2 draw against West Ham. The Black Cats still have a meagre 21 points and very little more hope of moving out of last place on the table to hold on to their spot in the EPL.

The players of the fantasy football game day

If we are looking for the players with the most points on Fantasybet and FanTeam, then we need to look first of all at Tottenham.

Harry Kane

The English national player, as so often, was one of the decisive men at the Spurs. After several weeks off through injury, Kane had his first place in the starting line-up and displayed his gratitude for the coach’s confidence with a goal and an assist. Fantasybet rewarded Kane’s performance with 3 bonus points, making a total of 12. On FanTeam there were 10 points for the match winner.

Once again, I can not move on from the topic of Tottenham without spending some time talking about Spurs’ defence. The Londoners have been able to keep a clean sheet three times in the last 4 games. Bournemouth only managed to get one shot on their opponents’ goal in the entire game! From a fantasy football point of view the enormous defensive strength of the Spurs also increases the value of the Tottenham midfielders even further. Both Fantasybet and FanTeam give an additional point to midfielders whose team “keeps a clean sheet”.

Phil Jagielka

We stay with defenders, but this time we are looking at Everton. Defender Phil Jagielka claims a place amongst the ranks of the top players of the game day. Everton won 3: 1 against Burnley. Jagielka helped secure the Toffees’ success by means of a goal (11 points on Fantasybet, 10 on FanTeam). The Toffees’ defence deserves extra praise for their cooperation in forward game. Jagielka was able to score a goal and Williams and Baines were each able to deliver an assist. Three out of four Everton defenders could thus collect scorer points and reward the confidence of the fantasy football managers, who put used the Toffees for their defence.

Marko Arnautovic / Xherdan Shaqiri

After losing the last four lost Premier League matches in a row, Stoke City defeated newly-promoted Hull 3-1. The midfielders Shaqiri and Arnautovic were particularly impressive. Both were able to score once and also assist. On Fantasybet there were 12 points for Arnautovic (2 bonus points) and 13 for Shaqiri (3 bonus points). On FanTeam, Arnautovic also won 12 points for your fantasy football team, Shaqiri 11.

Overview

Tottenham has a tough program ahead of them. This Saturday, they will be playing in the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea and then in next Wednesday’s EPL match, Crystal Palace will be waiting for Harry Kane and Co. Despite the double burden, the Spurs offensive players should be hot candidates for the next match day. On the 34. game day of the Premier League, the Toffees are facing West Ham United. Their defence, and, of course, the long-running Lukaku could definitely be worth a look. Lastly, Stoke will play against Swansea on Saturday. The Welsh have the weakest defence in the league, and Arnautovic and Shaqiri are a hot tip for midfielders, who should offer excellent value for money.

I hope you enjoyed our look back over the 33rd game day!
