In our interviews on “The Green Carpet” we meet with successful fantasy football managers and chat with them about their successes and their background. We hope you enjoy our interview with our fantasy football coach Patrick.

You have several very successful weekends behind you, what were your biggest cashes?

Actualy, the last few weeks have been very good for me, especially on FantasyBet. On Boxing Day, I was able to take 2nd place in the 3k Gtd. That win was worth £510. Since mid-November, I have also managed to take a third place win in the Grand Weekend for £132 and another 2nd place win in the Grand New Year for £190.

I also took 13th and a 14th place in the 10k Gtd. on Fanteam for just over €300. So I really can not complain :).

When did you first come into contact with football?

Ever since Comunio, Kickbase and Co. came along, fantasy football has been on everyone’s lips. However, this is the seasonal variant. Personally, I prefer the much greater action and excitement that Daily Fantasy Football brings with it. I started playing almost two years ago – until now mainly on FantasyBet and Fanteam.

On which providers do you play? Which is your personal favourite?

I mainly play on FantasyBet and Fanteam but have also taken my first steps on SPORT.Guru and DraftKings. My personal favourite is FantasyBet. Getting started on FantasyBet is really easy with the bonus offers from 11Heroes. You can start playing right away with the tournament coins and the free tournament buy-in, the interface is super intuitive and I have been able to celebrate my biggest Daily Fantasy Football achievements there: p.

Of course, Fanteam is great too, the biggest tournaments there can run up to 10k Gtd. and SPORT.Guru has the Bundesliga in the offer which is also great.

What are your 3 favourite tournaments and why?

  1. Clearly the monthly 3k Gtd. on FantasyBet. This is where I have celebrated my greatest successes and there is usually around a 20% overlay (editor’s note: an overlay is created a tournament has a guaranteed prize pool by and the number of participants means that the sum of the guaranteed prize money is higher than the sum of the entry fees.  These tournaments tend to be very profitable!).  This is not to be sniffed at.
  2. The 10k Gtd. on FanTeam. I yet to managed a big cash in this tournament, but every week there is a nice overlay here and the field is, all in all, very soft.
  3. The Grand Weekend on FantasyBet. Although the overlay is often a bit lower here, I have also been able to achieve good results in the Grand Weekend and the player pool is a bit softer than in the 3k Gtd – or at least people don’t seem to do their research so thoroughly;)!

Which Leagues are you grinding?

At the moment I’m mainly concentrating on the Premier League. But in the future I want to focus even more on the Bundesliga and I hope that the prize money at SPORT.Guru will continue to rise and that the Daily Fantasy Football tournaments there will be even more worthwhile. But maybe the other providers will soon include the Bundesliga in their range. That would be great.

Do you also play other fantasy sports besides fantasy football?

Nope. But I’m a big tennis fan. Maybe there will be opportunities there soon :).

What has been your biggest success in DFF?

My biggest success was in the Premier League season 2016/17. I was able to ship the 3k Gtd. on FantasyBet for £844! I think that was the last tournament of the season. So that was a nice ending.

On average, how many hours do you invest on fantasy football a week?

Every week I spend a few hours researching the Premier League and another 2 to 3 hours right before the start of the tournament, creating teams and tinkering with my lineups.

What are your fantasy football plans and goals and your resolutions for the coming year?

I believe that Daily Fantasy Football has a great future, and that the prize money will continue to rise, and I look forward to playing, hopefully, profitably. Of course, I am especially looking forward to the upcoming World Cup in Russia and the associated Daily Fantasy Football tournaments. Also, I’m determined to revive my blog to tell you about my experiences in Daily Fantasy Football.
