In this article, we shall introduce you to 3 standard formations in daily fantasy football. Why would you use each formation? We show you the most promising and most used line-ups.

Daily Fantasy Football Standard Formations

3-4-3

This is the fantasy football classic, a very offensive formation which can bring you many points. Because goals will provide the most points, you try to create the maximum offensive power. This formation makes a lot of sense, when many goals are expected and you have a lot of very good, goal-scoring midfielders to choose from.

5-3-2

The wall tactic can be used in Fantasy football! Unlike with the 3-4-3, very few goals are expected here and you leave yourself completely reliant on a strong defence (mostly with defence blocks formed by defensively-strong teams). This formation can provide a lot of points, especially if the strikers offer few good options.

4-3-3

This set-up represents a kind of compromise between the previous two formations; there are good chances for an offensive game and good chances for a defensive game. Generally you’re taking a little more risk than with a 3-4-3, as it is extremely important for you that both defensive blocks keep clean sheets. But you’re not quite as committed to defence as with a 5-3-2. This game line-up is ideal if there are few offensively-strong midfielders available to you and you want to ensure a good defence as well as a strong offence.
